Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada. She is American. She has released over 20 albums. DiFranco describes her music as folk-rock and alternative, but it also includes influences like punk, hip-hop, and jazz. Ani Difranco is widely acknowledged as a pioneer of music that is feminist. In 1990, she was among the first artists to create her own independent record label. DiFranco has two daughters: Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They met in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother is from Montreal and her father has Italian descent. Ani DiFranco wrote and sang 32 Flavors.
