The debut single of hers was released in the year 2015. The track received praise from music critics and listeners. The Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked it as 19. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song as one of 2015's most memorable Songs. The same year, she debuted her album Know It All with the third song Scars to Your Beautiful being the first of five tracks which peaked on the Billboard charts, including the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. This particular track was special due to her interview with Rap-Up many listeners were inspired by her story of self-doubt, and her journey to learn how to accept herself. Cara is known for incorporating messages about mental health kindness and self-love into her songs. The inspiration for her music is drawn from her own personal experiences as she struggled with mental health issues and insomnia. In an Reuters interview she describes the album as being half turbulent and half well-crafted. She describes her growth by therapy and is adamant about encouraging anyone else to seek out help when necessary. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11th, 1996. Her parents gifted her with her first guitar when she was 10. It was the beginning of her journey with music. When she was 13, she started covering songs she liked on YouTube in order to show the public that she was a talented artist and was able to make a profession of a musician. Sweater Weather is one of these covers which led to her being discovered at the time by EP Entertainment. This record label gave her the opportunity to create the songs she wrote herself.
