The song reached the top spot at 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in 2015. Her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was among five songs that reached the top spots on Billboard including Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as Billboard Hot 100. In an interview that Cara did together with Rap Up, this track had lots of meaning for many people listening who were drawn to her personal story of accepting and loving your self. Cara is known for incorporating messages about mental health love and self-love into her music. Her inspiration for her music stems from her personal struggles to conquer mental health issues and insomnia. According to Reuters interview, she has described her album as half-tumultuous and half-perfected. The singer says that she experienced growth in therapy. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. Her birth date was July 11th, 1996 to parents with Italian descent. Her parents gifted her with an instrument when she was 10 and this ignited her love for music. After three years, at 13 years old, she started to sing her most loved songs on YouTube. It was an excellent opportunity to show others that she possessed both talent and courage. Sweater Weather is one of these covers which led to her being discovered at the time by EP Entertainment. This record label let her write the songs she wrote herself.
